Affiliate marketing has always been one of the most popular techniques for making money online.
If you are simply starting out in affiliate marketing, there is no less complicated or quicker way to generate earnings. Anyone who already operates their own online business, promoting someone else’s products can significantly increase their income.
The primary attraction to affiliate marketing comes from the fact that the only activity the affiliate needs to perform is to sell whatever products or services they believe has solid sales potential. The rest is left up to the owner of the product or service.
The beauty is that you don’t even need a website to make money as an affiliate. All you need to do is to promote your assigned affiliate hyperlink and then redirect future buyers to the owner’s sales page for the products and services.
A major drawback is that almost every affiliate will follow same process. If all you are doing is directing traffic via your affiliate link, you will be competing with endless other folks who are selling the same product.
The best way to break away from the group is to market and promote the owner’s product in a smarter and more aggressive manner.
Those who are known as “super” affiliates, make a tremendous amount of cash promoting other people’s products. That is because they market and promote them as if they were selling their own products.
Even though there is a sales page associated with each of owner products, “super” affiliates develop a page on their own website. The purpose of that web page is to pre-sell the item. What they are doing is priming and gearing up the prospect to purchase prior to sending them to the owner’s sales page.
Another thing they do, is send the potential purchaser to a landing page where they can capture the purchaser’s email. When you send the prospect directly to the owner's sales page the owner gets the contact name and email address, you don't. By directing them to your landing page you have the opportunity to capture the name and email address for your list, prior to sending them onto the owner's sales page.
Additionally, they use pay per click advertising to their advantage. They adhere to the old adage “you need to spend money in order to make money.” However, there are ways to gain customers albeit a bit slower by using free organic methods on Facebook and other platforms which we will discuss in another post.
Most of the “super” affiliates have mastered the pay for click method. They know exactly what works, how much to bid, and what appeals most to the prospects.
Since they have discovered how to play the game so well, they frequently generate more money than they would have if they used free advertising methods.
But using their own websites and pay per click are just two ways they garner potential purchasers.
Other methods include…
Writing product critiques and personal endorsements, recommendations, and testimonials.
Operating niche blogs which relate to the products they are marketing.
Including their affiliate link when writing and distributing articles associated with owner’s products.
Offering special bonuses that are only available through them.
Giving away free tips, information, or checklists, either on their website or delivered via eBooks or autoresponder messages.
Capturing prospects names and email addresses for future follow-up.
Using their own marketing and promotional materials.
Although each of these strategies are both valuable and effective, the next one is even more valuable.
While other affiliates are just copying and pasting solo ads that the owner of the product has made available, the super affiliate is developing their own specific sales content material.
Instead of sending the same message every other affiliate is using, they put their own spin on it. That way they make the product seem extra special, attractive, and authentic. And as a result, they will generate extra income.
But that is not all they do…
They also make certain that they start off on the right foot, so to speak. Rather than bounce on every service, product, and program that comes their way, they cautiously choose those they feel confident they can promote and market effectively.
When affiliates are just starting out, they don’t have the experience and sixth sense that those who have been marketing for awhile.
However, there are a few basic factors everyone can use that will help them choose the right products, such as:
Assessing the level interest and demand.
Figuring out whether the owner’s sales page is capable of converting prospects into buyers.
Determining the value and quality of the product.
Ensuring there is enough information about the product to promote it successfully.
Super affiliates do not gain their reputation overnight. They work long and hard at what they do and put in the time and effort to make sure they outsell everyone else of their niche.
And the payoff? A sizable income that is generated over and over again, month after month, and year after year, for as long as they wish to maintain promoting and marketing the owner’s products.
